Thousands of staples, each carrying a metallic bead,
are arranged in uniform direction on a disk of painted balsa wood.
As the disk rotates ever so slowly, the beads jot along the staple wires
with great variation in timing, due to the items'
subtle differences in weight and friction.
The result is a gently waxing and waning cascade of organic movement,
accompanied by rustling, chiming, and clicking sounds.
